THE

FESTIVAL

2 AWESOME DAYS OF FREE MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT

There are some unique features about the BFMF that sets the event apart from other festivals:

We promote musicians who wish to develop their original song writing ability by performing their songs in front of a live audience.

We provide a platform for new musicians to demonstate their musicianship and musical delivery live on stage.

We produce an eclectic mix of music, which is hard to match anywhere.

and finally.....

The festival is FREE at the point of entry (just about)

PARKING

There is NO parking on Hurst Green, so please leave cars at the various car parks in the town. and walk up to Hurst Green (10 min's).

It's recommended that festival goers don't make their journey to the festival through Colchester, as it can get very congested. Instead use the A120.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FESTIVAL

Try What3Words: https://w3w.co/cover.sisters.songbook for navigation.

The festival’s address is Hurst Green, Brightlingsea. Colchester. CO7 0HG. The best way by car to get to Brightlingsea is from the A120, whether you’re coming from London/M25 or from the North via the A14/A12. You can come through Colchester, but its not be recommended at rush hour – which seems to be virtually all day these days!

If you’re heading up the A12 from the M25, don’t take the Colchester exit but continue on towards Ipswich, branching off after you’ve passed the town onto the A120 for Clacton and Harwich -Jn 29 (DON'T be fooled into taking A120 Braintree/Stanstead, which is s few miles before Colchester).

If you’re approaching from the North on the A12, come off at Colchester exit, then take a left at the roundabout for Clacton/Harwich onto the A120. Come off the A120 at the Clacton exit and at the roundabout take second exit (A133) towards Frating and Colchester. At the crossroads about three-quarters-of-a-mile further on ,turn left onto the B1029 (by Kings Arms pub), cross the level crossing about a mile-and-a-half away, and, when you get to the mini-roundabout at Thorrington, turn right, then immediately let at the adjacent roundabout towards Brightlingsea on the B1027.

From there it is about three miles to the Festival site, which is on Hurst Green, which is located at the end of the high Street. There is no parking around the Green and the road will be closed on the festival days, but there’s parking at the various car parks.

ACTIVITIES IN THE PARK
