We have made a few tweaks this year to bring you a bigger and better festival.

As ever we cannot express how grateful we are for the generosity of the local community. The hard work of all involved and the support of the local businesses mean we are still able to put on a free event which is almost unheard of these days!

We are proud to give musicians the ability to showcase their original song writing ability and allow them to perform their songs in front of a live friendly audience, up and coming acts this year include Point Clear and About The Humans. Our headliners this year are the fabulous The Future Shape of Sound on Saturday and The Brass Funkeys will close the festival on Sunday.

As you can see from this year’s line-up, we have a wide range of music to support all tastes. Again, the local pubs have supported the event and will continue the spirit of the festival by having local bands playing over the weekend.

We called on the budding artists and designers at the Colne and had a competition whereby the students had to design the front page. We gave them the theme of 50 years of Woodstock. It was very hard to judge as they were all fabulous but a huge congratulations to our winner - Demelza Berry.

Special thanks go to Paul Hickman for our incredible website and Chris Edwards for running our raffle and of course thanks again to those who volunteer on the day. Your support is so very much appreciated.

As ever my heartfelt thanks to my committee for their dedication to the festival. The basically just get on and do it. We are a brilliant team and always have a smile! Thank you to Mick Barry, Andrea Godfrey, Julie Ford, Ali-May Watson, Bob Walsh and Kate Deyn.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!Message from the Chaiman

What will I be asked to do?

We’re looking for helpful people to make sure the festival site is ready before we open in the mornings.

We also need people to assist visitors.

There will be other jobs that will need doing, but you won’t have to do anything you don’t want to do!

Volunteers are welcome to join our monthly meetings at Ye Olde Swan in Brightlingsea, High Street.

Dates & Times TBC.
